A recent update for the PlayStation 3 has bricked the console for a number of users, forcing Sony to yank an update as it looks into the issue. sources that are familiar with the matter said that Sony Corp's top investor Daniel Loeb will miss the company's next shareholder meeting, and those attending will not be considering his proposal to partially spin off the lucrative entertainment business. But his suggestion, which strikes at the heart of whether Sony remains both a consumer electronics maker and a provider of music, movies and TV programs, will be the elephant in the room at the annual gathering - and for months to come. Microsoft's upcoming Xbox One received a not-so-subtle dig on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night show. Fallon invited Mark Cerny, chief system architect of the Sony PS4, to discuss and demo Sony's upcoming new game console, and Cerny said in comparison to the XBox One: "We support used games. We don't require an Internet connection."
