XLrator Media has picked up North American rights to “The Scribbler,” a sci-fi actioner starring a number of familiar TV faces and gearing up for a theatrical run in the fall.
Katie Cassidy (“Arrow”) toplines a cast that also includes Michelle Trachtenberg (“Gossip Girl”), Eliza Dushku (“Dollhouse”), Gina Gershon, Sasha Grey, Garret Dillahunt (“Raising Hope”), Michael Imperioli (“The Sopranos”) and Bill Campbell (“The Killing”). John Suits directs the pic penned by Daniel Schaffer, who also wrote and illustrated the 2006 graphic novel that inspired the film.
Storyline centers on a mentally ill woman who aims to destroy her multiple personalities with an experimental new machine — until she begins to wonder if she herself if one of the undesirable personalities to be erased.
“The Scribbler” is from New Artists Alliance, the production company also behind recent titles “Bad Milo” and “Cheap Thrills.” NAA’s Gabriel Cowan and NightSky Prods.’ Ken F. Levin produce with exec producer Kerry Johnson, plus Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller of Caliber Media.
Distribution deal was pacted by XLrator Media’s Barry Gordon and Mike Radiloff with Traction Media, repping the filmmakers.
Exact fall release date has yet to be set.
