Watch Gavin DeGraw Bring Music and Humor to a Denver Children's Hospital

In today's news to warm your heart: Gavin DeGraw managed to steal some time away from opening for Shania Twain on tour to give back at the Children's Hospital Colorado in Denver as part of his ongoing work with Musicians On Call.

"It's always a humbling experience to get the chance to meet and talk to the kids," DeGraw tells ETonline. "Hearing their stories and struggles is an inspiration."

See some of DeGraw's visit for yourself in the video above, in which he helped launch the Virtual Bedside Performance program with a little help from Seacrest Studios. DeGraw performed his biggest hits, including "I Don't Wanna Be" and "Not Over You," for a room full of smiling kids - even enlisting their help on singing some of the lyrics. The performance -- and an adorable Q&A session afterwards -- was broadcast to patients throughout the hospital via closed circuit TV.

"The kids came prepared with really tough questions, like 'What's your favorite word that starts with W?' where I got to share my terrible attempts at whistling," DeGraw says. "I was really impressed with their reporter skills!"

DeGraw has been a longtime partner with Musicians on Call, a nonprofit that believes in delivering the healing power of music through bedside performances at hospitals across 16 U.S. cities, repeatedly volunteering his time to the cause.

"Music has always been there when I'm feeling down or need a little pick-me-up, so I'm glad I can provide that for these deserving kids," he said.

And those kids had a major surprise in store for DeGraw during his visit -- watch the video above to see the singer's reaction as he's presented with a Platinum Record for "Not Over You."
