‘Sons of Anarchy’s Emilio Rivera Heads To ‘Badsville'; Monterey Media Gets ‘Sex, Death And Bowling’

Emilio Rivera of Sons of Anarchy and Robert Knepper of Prison Break have joined the cast of Badsville, a drama set amongst gangs of rival greasers from director April Mullen (Dead Before Dawn 3D). The story, set in the eponymous town of Badsville, follows the TheBadsville Kings gang as they confront each other’s loyalty and rival gang The Aces, while at the same time discovering love, and trying to escape the town. It’s the debut screenplay for cowriters Ian McLaren and Benjamin Barrett, who also costar in the film. Along with Rivera and Knepper, it stars Tamara Duarte (Hard Rock Medical), Rene Rosado (Star Trek Into Darkness), Octavio Pizano (If Loving You is Wrong), Paul James Jordan (Piranha 3DD), Chelsea Rendon (McFarland USA), and Gregory Kasyan (Arms and the Dudes). Ian McLaren and Benjamin Barrett appear as “Wink” and “Benny” respectively. From Phillm Productions, Badsville is produced by David J. Phillips (Moments of Clarity) and Douglas Spain (Line Of Duty), and repped by Ramo Law. It is filming in locations throughout southern California.

has announced its acquisition of all North American rights to Sex, Death and Bowling, from director Ally Walker. The comedic drama follows an eleven-year-old boy named Eli, on a quest to win a local bowling tournament. Along the way, he’s joined by his uncle, a fmous fashion designer, who hasn’t spent any time with the family in years but has returned home to bid farewell to Eli’s ill father. As he takes Eli’s father’s place on the bowling team, the family examines old wounds and repairs longstanding rifts. Written and directed by Walker, Sex, Death And Bowling stars Adrian Grenier (Entourage), Selma Blair (Hellboy), Bailey Chase (Longmire), Drea de Matteo (Sons of Anarchy), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), and Joshua Rush (Mr. Peabody & Sherman), is scheduled to strike into U.S. theaters late autumn. Sig De Miguel, Larry Rattner, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, and Walker produced. The deal was negotiated with Circus Roads’ Glen Reynolds and Irwin M. Rappaport, and monterey media’s Scott Mansfield. Walker is repped by Domain Talent and Framework Entertainment.
