Robin Williams to Play Eisenhower in Lee Daniels' 'The Butler'
Robin Williams as Ike? Frankly, we're not seeing the resemblance, but apparently Lee Daniels thinks otherwise.
"Mrs. Doubtfire" star Robin Williams has been cast as former president Dwight D. Eisenhower in Daniels' upcoming film "The Butler," joining a cast that already includes Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Vanessa Redgrave, Terrence Howard, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda and Colman Domingo.

Daniels and Danny Strong wrote the script, based on a Washington Post article about Allen. Daniels is also producing, along with Hilary Shor, Cassian Elwes and Pam Williams for Laura Zisken Productions.

In addition to "The Butler," Williams will also star in the comedy "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn" with Mila Kunis, Peter Dinklage, Melissa Leo and James Earl Jones. Directed by Phil Alden Robinson, the film centers around a stand-in doctor who mistakenly tells a patient he has 90 minutes to live. Shooting starts in September in Brooklyn.
