Rent Jeremy Piven’s Beach House

OWNER: Jeremy Piven
LOCATION: Malibu, Calif.
PRICE: $35,000/month
SIZE: 2,424 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: It has come to Your Mama’s attention that Jeremy Piven has put his Malibu beach house up for rent at a rate of $35,000 per month. (The property is more accurately priced at $27,500 for the month of May and $50,000 per month for June, July, August and September. The price dips to $35,000 per month only if it’s leased for the entire summer. But anyways…)

Property records show the Golden Globe-winning “Entourage” and “Mister Selfridge” actor acquired the three-story residence in May 2004 for $3.5 million, and current listing details show the 2,424-square-foot abode has three bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and more Buddhist statues and candle clusters than Your Mama can shake a stick at.

A locked and gated courtyard entrance shaded by a vine-draped trellis structure leads to the house’s main floor with, per listing details, a couple of bedrooms and an L-shaped open-plan living/dining/kitchen space finished with glossy, milk-chocolate toned wood floors and snow-white walls. Sliding glass doors open the house-wide space to a partly covered deck with one of those freestanding hot tubs sporting a molded plastic interior. In addition to a spacious, ocean-side maser suite with walk-in closet, ocean-view bathroom and private deck, the top floor also has an en suite bedroom decked out as a projection system-equipped screening room and furnished with a whole bunch of brown leather and suede furnishings.

A small, detached and sky-lit pavilion off the entry courtyard houses Mister Piven’s private yoga studio, while the house’s lower level, just a couple steps above the beach, has a party-sized dry sauna and roomy entertainment room with media lounge, instrument-filled jam space and built-in bar. More glass sliders open to another deck bordered with built-in bench seating and outfitted with surfboard storage racks and at least one hammock.

According to the New York Post, Mister Piven also owns a place in New York City where, in 2011, he paid former professional baseballer Mike Piazza $4,582,125 for a 3,012-square-foot triplex penthouse in the same TriBeCa building where satirist Jon Stewart sold his much larger, nearly 6,000-square-foot duplex penthouse last fall in a secret, off-market deal for $17.5 million to an as-yet-unidentified buyer.
