Ratings: Obama Appearance Lifts 'Late Show' to a 2-Year High
President Barack Obama's appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" on Tuesday night pushed the show to its best ratings in two and a half years, CBS said Wednesday.
Tuesday night's episode posted a 4.0 rating/10 share in overnight markets, its best performance since its Feb. 9, 2010 episode. (That night's episode, which featured guests Jennifer Garner, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, and singer Sade, averaged a 4.3/10.)

Tuesday's ratings also represented a 60 percent hike in "The Late Show"'s year-to-date Tuesday average, and a 67 percent jump from the Monday-Friday average during the 2011-2012 television year.
Obama's "Late Show" drop-in also appears to have boosted "The Late Late Show," which airs following "The Late Show." Tuesday night's episode posted a 1.9/7.
