Nick Jonas Wants to Be 'American Idol' Judge

Nick Jonas wants to join the "American Idol" judges' panel.

The Jonas Brother confirmed reports that he's in the running for a spot on "Idol," by taking to his Twitter account.

"The rumors are true," Jonas wrote Saturday. "I am being considered to be a judge on 'American Idol,' and it would be a dream come true if it happens."

The 19-year-old, who rose to Disney-enabled fame with his brothers Joe and Kevin in the poppy trio the Jonas Brothers, has branched out in recent years with a solo project, Nick Jonas & the Administration, and a stint in a West End production of "Les Miserables."

Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez departed as judges last month. Mariah Carey is joining the pane. The fate of her manager, "Idol" mainstay Randy Jackson, is up in the air.
