Legendary Taps James Ngo As SVP Franchise Management

Legendary has hired James Ngo as SVP franchise management, a new post where the executive will develop additional revenue opportunities for the studio’s IPs, including Godzilla and Pacific Rim. In addition Ngo will oversee the company’s brand collaborations on established IPs across film, TV, digital, VR and live events. He will report to Legendary’s chief marketing officer, Emily Castel. Prior to Legendary, Ngo managed licensing and branding over the last decade at FremantleMedia for such shows as American Idol, America’s Got Talent, X-Factor, The Price Is Right and Family Feud. Through his work at FremantleMedia, Ngo forged relationships with world-class licensees and retailers across all major sectors including toys, fashion & apparel, home, beauty, food, publishing and gaming. During his 15-years in licensing and branding, Ngo also served as Earthbound Brands’ VP of licensing and business development, a boutique design and licensing agency based in New York City that specializes in large scale direct-to-retail and licensing programs. Ngo is a graduate from UCLA with a B.A. in Communications, and holds a M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
