'The Killing' Adds Troubled Teen for Season 3

AMC's The Killing is adding a group of troubled teens for its retooled third season.

Relative newcomer Max Fowler has been tapped to play Twitch, a good-looking, savvy, streetwise teen who's as charming as he is manipulative, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

STORY: Elias Koteas to Co-Star in 'The Killing' Revival

He's described as being his own biggest fan with dreams of acting and modeling in Hollywood with a fluid sexuality. The character has been in trouble with the law since he was 10, having been arrested for prostitution, drug possess, trespassing and the like but always seems to charm his way out of it.

Based on the Danish series Forbrydelsen, the first two seasons of The Killing revolved around Seattle police detectives Linden (Mireille Enos) and Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) as they investigated the murder of Rosie Larsen.

Fowler joins new regular Elias Koteas in the new season, along with Enos and Kinnaman.

The 12-episode third season will introduce a new case and is set one year after the Rosie Larsen case was closed with Linden no longer a detective. She is drawn back when Holder's search for a runaway girl leads him to a string of murders that connects to a previous investigation led by Linden.

Production will begin Feb. 25 in Vancouver.

Repped by Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Entertainment, Fowler has appeared in The Hour, Doctors and Waterloo Road.
