Katie Couric Busy Terrifying James Corden, Pitching Comedy Series

James Corden confessed that his producers have been going back and forth about the torture-track staircase on his Late Late Show set, which seems destined to trip up some guest in high heels. But that came only after Katie Couric scared the information out of him with her April Fools prank during today’s taping. Watch it above.

Presumably Couric’s other headline today – that she’s pitching a comedy series about a morning infotainment show like the one that made her America’s Morning TV Sweetheart – isn’t another April Fools gag. Variety reports Michelle Pfeiffer, who would star, and Diane English, who created, and Two And A Half Men’s Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, who would exec produce, also are part of the pitching, mostly to premium cablers and streaming services.
