issues on Capitol Hill for the news division’s digital and on-air platforms. Shaw, Assistant Professor of Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, has an extensive background in litigation. The hire was announced by Jonathan Greenberger, Washington Bureau Chief and executive producer of This Week, in a memo to staff:

I’m pleased to announce that Kate Shaw is joining ABC News as a contributor covering the Supreme Court and legal issues on The Hill for our digital and on-air platforms.

Kate, who graduated with a B.A. magna cum laude from Brown University and with a J.D. magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Northwestern University Law School, brings a depth of experience and knowledge to her new role. She began her career working for Judge Richard Posner on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago. From there she clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens of the U.S. Supreme Court and later worked in the White House Counsel’s Office as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Counsel to the President.
