Justin Bieber Single-Camera Comedy in Development at ABC

ABC has been diagnosed with Bieber fever.

A single-camera comedy based on Justin Bieber's young life is in development, the network told TheWrap on Friday.

The singing sensation -- who has already demonstrated his acting chops during a two-episode arc on "CSI" -- is executive producing alongside his manager, Scooter Braun. This will be the duo's second producing effort together, the first being the hit documentary "Never Say Never."

Described as a family show, the series from "Entourage" writers Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi will focus on Bieber's awkward teenage years before he was famous, while exploring his unorthodox family.

Considering the 18-year-old rose to fame in 2009, it's hard to imagine his teen years were very awkward, but at least he has three solid years of teenage anonymity to draw from.

TV Guide first reported that the proposed sitcom was in the works and is being considered for next season.
