Charlie Hunnam Talks 'Pacific Rim 2' at Comic-Con

Charlie Hunnam dropped by Yahoo Movies’ studio at San Diego Comic-Con to talk about his starring role in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which arrives next spring. We also took the opportunity to ask him about the big-budget project that, unfortunately, won’t wind up on his résumé: Pacific Rim: Maelstrom.

In the clip above, Hunnam tells us that he was approached to reprise his role as hero Raleigh Becket in Steven S. DeKnight’s upcoming sequel to Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 monster mash, about humanity’s efforts to combat Godzilla-like “kaiju” monsters by using equally titanic human-controlled mecha-robots. Alas, Hunnam was forced to exit the production at an early stage due to scheduling conflicts, but watch the clip above and you’ll see he’s still very much rooting for the sequel: “I’m very excited about it. I’m glad they’re making it.”
