‘The Conjuring’s Hayes Brothers Writing Duo Sign With CAA
EXCLUSIVE: Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes, best known for writing New Line Cinema’s global box office horror hits The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, have moved to CAA from WME. Both films are in the Top 10 highest-grossing horror films of all time, with the first installment $318M worldwide in 2013 and the second $320.17M globally this summer for Warner Bros. The writing duo also worked (uncredited) on a rewrite of the studio’s San Andreas which grossed a whopping $473.9M globally for director Brad Peyton.
They two, who always seem to be working, are currently writing the feature Haunted for Amblin/DreamWorks and producers Roy Lee and Scott Bernstein as well as The Burn for New Line and producers Beau Flynn and Wendy Jacobson.
Both are managed by Ken Freimann at Circle of Confusion and their attorney is Jeff Frankel at McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
