China Box Office: ‘Furious 7′ Takes Record and Second Victory Lap

“Fast & Furious 7” grossed $72.7 million in its second week at the Chinese box office, a strong number that lifted its 15 day total to $324 million after 15 days of release, according to data from Ent Group.

The score made “Furious 7” the highest grossing film of all time in China, overtaking the record held by “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” which had earned $319 million. (Universal’s estimates announced a $323 million figure.)

The figure was a steep drop from the $188 million in its previous full week (Monday to Sunday). But it still left “Furious 7” as the top film of the week, and earning more than twice as much as second placed title the new release romantic drama “The Left Ear” which took $31.9 million in three days.

In third place was Fan Bingbing-starring romance “Ever Since We Love,” which held on well in its second week. It took $10.2 million, for a 10 day total of $21.9 million.
