Bill O’Reilly Announces ‘Legends & Lies’ Season 2 Pickup By Fox News Channel

Bill O’Reilly announced tonight on The O’Reilly Factor that Fox News Channel’s series Legends & Lies has been renewed for a second season. The next installment, Legends & Lies: Patriots will profile figures who shaped the country’s early days. FNC has ordered 12 weeks of Patriots – a two-episode increase from the current season.

O’Reilly is exec producer on the series, produced by Warm Spring Productions, the makers of History’s Mountain Men, Animal Planet’s American River Renegades and HGTV’s Log Cabin Living. He also has appeared onscreen in each episode, providing analysis and commentary with historians and other experts and descendants of the subjects. The current season, Legends & Lies: The Real West, is averaging 1.2 million viewers and 208,000 in the news demo. Since launching in April, the series has grown 14% in total viewers and 103% in the demo.

L&L: The Real West wraps its run on June 14 after three more episodes profiling George Custer, Butch Cassidy and Bass Reeves, aka the real Lone Ranger, who O’Reilly recently previewed on NBC’s Tonight Show:
