And I'm gay." The admission by the United State's first openly gay professional athelete (of the four major team sports) is another inspiring step toward elminating damaging stigmas against the gay community, and more importantly, opens the door for more athletes to come out, as well. The best part? A bevy of athletes, politicians and NBA fans poured out messages of support for Collins' courageous decision go public with his sexuality.
