Bet You Didn't Know

Neither you nor anyone else knows if Tintin is the young journalist's first or last name. It was never revealed in any of the 24 "Adventures of Tintin" books. Some experts say it's supposed to be a penname, like his creator Herge used (his real name was Georges Prosper Remi). The name itself may literally mean "nothing." It may have been taken from the French phrase "faire tintin," meaning "to go without."
