Last Monday, "Underworld: Awakening" woke up to the news that it had won the weekend's box office. It's amazing what casting one of the best-looking women on the planet and dressing her in one of the tightest outfits imaginable can do for ticket sales. But will it be enough to fend off the hungry competition hitting theaters this weekend?

Three major releases are opening up to general release this Friday, and action remains the name of the game. Whether you choose a rom-com, a heist flick, or a survival tale, if you're going to take in one of this weekend's offerings, get comfortable on the edge of your seat. Check out the choices below, along with what kind of fans we think will enjoy each flick.

The Grey
The Grey

The Grey

Rated R for violence/disturbing content including bloody images, and for pervasive language.

What's the Story?
After surviving a horrendous airplane crash, a group of Alaskan oil-refinery workers find themselves in the middle of frozen nowhere and are forced to trudge their way to civilization. Fortunately for them, the leader of their pack, Ottway (Liam Neeson), is one tough mother. Unfortunately, standing between them and survival is a vast expanse of glacial wilderness and a bloodthirsty pack of big, bad wolves.

Who Will Dig It?
Rabid dog lovers, Boy Scouts, tough guys, and existentialists should howl about this genre-jumping thriller/horror/survival tale.

Man on a Ledge

Rated PG-13 for violence and brief strong language.

What's the Story?
Ex-cop and escaped convict Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) goes out on a ledge to prove he's been framed for stealing a $40 million diamond. What seems like a simple tale of talking Nick down turns out to be a conspiracy thriller with more plot twists than a Bavarian pretzel, leaving Nick's fate way up in the air.

Who Will Dig It?
Revenge seekers looking to stick it to the 1 percent, heist-flick junkies, conspiracy theorists, and tightrope walkers should take the leap and check it out.

One for the Money

Rated PG-13 for violence, sexual references, language, some drug material, and partial nudity.

What's the Story?
Recently divorced and unemployed, Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl) needs a job. As everyone in Jersey knows, it's good to have family, which is how Stephanie lands a gig as a bounty hunter for a bail-bond company. When Stephanie tries to bring in her ex-high school crush, Joe Morelli (Jason O'Mara), she has to use all her Jersey sass to learn the job, wrangle in the bad guys, and keep her meddling family from driving her crazy.

Who Will Dig It?
Fans of the best-selling Janet Evanovich mystery series, dysfunctional-family funsters, rom-com dons, Jersey Shore goers, and armchair sleuths shouldn't fuhgeddabout this one.
