When Robert Rodriguez teamed up with comic artist Frank Miller to bring the latter's gritty graphic novel "Sin City" to the screen in 2005, they assembled a memorable cast for the project, including Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Benicio Del Toro, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba.

And now for the upcoming sequel, Rodriguez and Miller are lining up just as much star power, making two major casting announcements for "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" on Tuesday. Eva Green will star as Ava Lord, the titular dame, while Julia Garner will also appear as an exotic dancer.

The French-born Green made her screen debut in Bernardo Bertolucci's controversial "The Dreamers," and later clicked with mainstream audiences playing Vesper Lynd in the James Bond thriller "Casino Royale" and Angelique Bouchard in Tin Burton's "Dark Shadows."

In "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For," she'll portray a beautiful but mysterious woman who involves a photographer into a web of sex, intrigue and murder. In a press release, Rodriguez and Miller praised Green, saying, "From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green."

As for Julia Garner, she's become a name to watch on the independent film scene, landing memorable roles in "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "The Perks Of Bring A Wallflower," as well as the offbeat horror story "We Are What We Are," which recently made a splash at the Sundance Film Festival. She'll be playing a stripper who's involved with Johnny, a hood played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Green and Garner are just the latest additions to an already powerful cast; Willis, Rourke, Dawson, and Alba are among those returning from the first film, while Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, Jeremy Piven, Juno Temple, and Christopher Meloni have also been attached to the project.

"Sin City: A Dame To Kill" For is currently being shot at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios complex in Austin Texas; like the first film, the entire film is being filmed using green screens, with the dark, shadowy backdrops, inspired by the artwork from Miller's books, created using CGI. The film is currently slated for an October release.
