Super Bowl Sunday. Pro football's biggest day is just as much about the TV commercials as it is about the Vince Lombardi Trophy. As the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens clashed on the field, studios unveiled their newest high-profile spots for upcoming movie releases. Here's a rundown of new trailers that aired during Super Bowl XVLII, including "Star Trek Into Darkness," "Iron Man 3" and "Fast & Furious 6":
Super Bowl viewers were treated to the first look at Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and company in the latest installment of director Justin Lin's blockbuster globe-trotting auto-action franchise. "Fast & Furious 6" races into theaters on May 24th.
Robert Downey Jr. is back as Tony Stark in a unique new spot for 'Iron Man 3,' in which Marvel's armored hero must make a daring mid-air rescue. 'Iron Man 3' soars into theaters on May 3.
High-ho, Silver! In this pre-game spot, Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer bring justice to the lawless as the legendary masked heroes of the wild west. "The Lone Ranger" rides into theaters on July 3.
The new spot from director JJ Abrams upcoming sci-fi action sequel features a villainous Benedict Cumberbatch facing off against Chris Pine's Captain Kirk and Starship Enterprise crew. "Star Trek Into Darkness" beams into theaters on May 17.
James Franco stars as a small-time circus magician who is mistaken for a great wizard when he finds himself transported into the magical Land of Oz. "Oz The Great and Powerful" opens in theaters on March 8.

World War Z
Brad Pitt stars in the epic chronicle of war and survival during the global zombie apocalypse, based on the bestselling novel by Max Brooks. "World War Z" opens in theaters on June 21st.
