Movie Talk‘Mockingjay’ pin will sell for $999 at Target
People go to Target for all sorts of stuff, from toys to toilet paper to televisions. Usually, Target shoppers want a bargain, but there's nothing cheap about the 14-karat gold mockingjay pin from "The Hunger Games" the megaretailer will sell this month.
At $999, the replica pin will test the dedication and bank account of even the most hardcore "Hunger Games" devotee. The piece of jewelry is being released shortly before the DVD and Blu-ray go on sale. There will be a limited number available on Target.com at midnight on August 18.

The pin, which plays a pivotal role in the first film, isn't the only bit of "Hunger Games" memorabilia for sale at Target. Also up for grabs (if you have the money to burn): a replica leather jacket worn by Katniss ($349) and a signed lithograph by 10 "Hunger Games" actors ($699).
The next installment of "The Hunger Games" trilogy, "Catching Fire," hits theaters in 2013.
