Emma Roberts Cut Her Hair! the New Look Makes it Official: 2014 Will Be the Year of Short 'Dos

At a soiree yesterday, Emma Roberts surprised everyone by showing up in a brand-new blonde bob. Although her strands have never not been super stylish, the new look is both insanely chic and totally low-maintenance-perfect for her busy, buzzy year ahead. Not only that, but it's the latest in a slew of stars going short, which means: Get friendly with those scissors, guys, because you're gonna want to do the same.

About that big year coming up? Emma's cropped cut isn't the only life-changer in the actress's world these days. In the last few weeks alone, she's debuted an engagement ring (gifted by her adorable AHS costar Evan Peters) and snagged a big new movie role.

Based on the critically-acclaimed novel of the same name, For the Dogs is about an assassin (played by Sam Worthington) who helps a college girl (the part Emma was just cast in) get revenge on the murderers of her parents and little brother. And while it'll be the first action-packed thriller we've seen Emma in, let's not forget that the actress currently stars on American Horror Story: Coven, which is certainly not short on action (beheadings abound) or thrills (witchcraft! voodoo! zombies!).

Emma will begin shooting in Germany this spring, which means the movie'll hopefully land in a theater near you before the end of the year. But cross your fingers that it won't interfere with American Horror Story's fourth season, which she's enthusiastically expressed interest in being a part of (and which we've enthusiastically expressed interested in watching-the girl is crazy-good on the Golden Globe-nominated series.)

Whether it's actually possible for her to do both roles remains to be seen, but it sure can't hurt to have such a no-fuss new 'do.
