What's The Story
Our story begins 20 years before the rise of the X-Men, deep in the Canadian wilderness. Logan, a mutant with a violent past, is finding inner peace in the arms of a schoolteacher. The past has a way of catching up, however, and soon his half-brother Victor tracks him down, brutally murdering the woman he loves. Although this epic story spans 150 years' worth of flashbacks, at its core is the story of Logan's quest for revenge against Victor -- a quest that turns him from man to Wolverine.
Three Good Reasons
- 1One word: testosterone. Guys will be thrilled to see Wolverine back to his savage-yet-snarky self, and women will appreciate the effort Hugh Jackman put into sculpting his pecs.
- 2Beloved fan favorites like wisecracking swordmaster Deadpool and card-flinging Cajun Gambit will finally appear on the big screen.
- 3Fans of Lost will enjoy seeing Dominic Monaghan (a.k.a. dearly departed Charlie) harness electricity while Kevin Durand (a.k.a. Keamy, the commando who killed Alex) kicks butt in a 700-pound fatsuit.
Bet You Didn't Know
Incredible Hulk #181 introduces Wolverine as the "first and greatest Canadian superhero!" We'll grant you "greatest," maybe, but "first" (and for that matter, authentically "Canadian") should really go to pioneer superheroine Nelvana of the Northern Lights. She predated Wonder Woman by four months.
