What's The Story

It's been a few years since security guard Larry Dalen had his romp at the Museum of Natural History, and he's found a bit of success as an inventor. But when his old pals Jedediah Smith and Octavius get shipped to the Smithsonian by mistake, Larry must drop everything to rescue them, and he ends up in over his head. Now the Smithsonian is coming to life, and so Larry must deal with Ivan the Terrible, a surprisingly fetching Amelia Earhart, and a nefarious pharaoh with plans to rule the world.

Three Good Reasons

  • 1The first Night at the Museum was an unexpected smash that brought both kids and adults to the box office in droves. This second adventure promises to outdo the first both in spectacle and in laughs.
  • 2Spinal Tap legend Christopher Guest (also the six-fingered villain of The Princess Bride) appears as Ivan the Terrible, and Simpsons veteran Hank Azaria will challenge Ben Stiller as the evil pharaoh.
  • 3This will be the first major Hollywood feature to be filmed at Washington D.C.'s Smithsonian Institution.

Bet You Didn't Know

The writers of the Museum flicks, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, are also the creators and stars of the wacky (and family unfriendly) TV mockumentary Reno 911. Both appear in Battle of the Smithsonian as the Wright Brothers. More about Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian on Yahoo! Movies
