What's The Story
In this sequel to the movie version of the wildly popular novel
The Da Vinci Code, the world's least-secret secret society has set into motion a dark plan that may destroy the Catholic Church for good. Despite the Church's grudge against Professor Robert Langdon for exposing a massive Vatican cover-up, its leaders must now call upon Langdon to find out what the Illuminati are up to and stop the ticking of a high-tech time bomb that's about to turn the papal conclave into a mini-Armageddon.
Three Good Reasons
- 1All the stuff you loved from the big screen's Da Vinci Code is back, without the stuff you might not have liked so much (the slow parts, for example, and that terrible haircut).
- 2In addition to religion, conspiracies and murder, this controversial thriller comes with a serving of eye candy. Gorgeous Israeli superstar Ayelet Zurer co-stars as the mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra.
- 3Painstaking care was taken in reconstructing St. Peter's Basilica to scale, using digital effects to create the parts that would tower above the 80-foot soundstage where it was built.
Bet You Didn't Know
The real-life Illuminati's founder was laughed out of his hometown in Bavaria 200 years ago, his order was disbanded, and they've never been heard from since. The obvious conclusion, of course, is that the Illuminati are still incredibly powerful. How else could they hide so well?
