  • In the action sequel Punisher: War Zone, Ray Stevenson takes over the title role as Marvel Comics' vigilante anti-hero, a one-man justice squad who takes on a vicious mobster-turned-super-villain named Jigsaw. (December 5)
  • Comic book legend Frank Miller adapts and directs Will Eisner's story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City as the masked crusader known as The Spirit.  Samuel L. Jackson stars as the villainous Octopus, and Scarlett Johansson is the beautiful Silken Floss. (January 16)
  • Alan Moore's classic graphic novel comes to life in Watchmen, a gritty, realistic take on the superhero genre.  Directed by Zack Snyder, and starring Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl, Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach, and Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre, the story revolves around the brutal murder of a former costumed vigilante. (March 6)
