Love to go to Van Wert cinema 5. Can go and not have too spend a small fortune on snacks. My Aunt and I go at least once a week.
Yes it's a small-town theater, but it's clean, the people are friendly & I really appreciate the prices they offer. We often choose the smaller screen because of the money we save - especially if you go on a Tuesday night for buy-one, get-one free family night! We can go to a movie, grab some snacks and leave feeling like we got our money's worth.
No problem with thef features shown in Van Wert. They will often book dramas and other serious fare for mature moviegoers like myself. Nice relatively new building built after the devastating Tornado. Clean and well maintained. But, beware ordering the popcorn. It is at best marginal. LOTS of old maids and partial kerels generally seen in the bottom of your container. Almost as bad as the popcorn sold down the road in Celina. At least Van Wert has Senior Citizen's nights and several other nice promotions. Attractive combo deals. Best deal in the area is the Ritz Theater in Portland, Indiana just across the state line to the South. Only two screens. WAY too many teen oriented PG movies shown. But, cheaper admissions and GREAT popcorn!
