I can't believe anyone would say anything good about this place. Those who did must be the owners or employees. It smells, bad, the theatres smell as if someone threw up and the staff didn't clean up until they let it soak into the seats. screens are trashed, sound isn't perfect. sure the place is old and some people might prefer an old theatre, but the deal is that it's old/rundown/trashed/should be torn down, not old/charming.
I can understand a building being old and "historical" but this place is nothing proud of. Anyone who hasn't lived in Woodland,CA and steps foot in this building all will have the same expression... WTF is this place. Musty smells, old ass popcorn, ripped movie screens that have been patched with duct tape, fallen apart seats, speakers that are blown out,on top of one of the moodiest limp wrist pissed off manager/owners I have ever met. Who cares if you save a whole dollar going here...save it for gas and go towards the mall. And if they don't have the movie...go to Truxel (Sacramento). I hope they either tear this building down and rebuild or get rid of the current owner and someone take it over and due this place justice.
let me try again the place smells like pitts. The bathrooms are dirty. The guy with white hair is not nice.the chunky man is mean smells like farts. :(
A great up to date theatre that shows up to date movies, but what's really great are the prices. General admission is $5.50,and their concession prices are reasonable compared to other theatres where you pay 7.75 to get in and around $10.00 for a combo deal. As I already mentioned the admission price is $5.50 not $7.50 as the top of the page shows.
All of the above post's apply however, Value at this theatre are unbeatable, including food/beverage, and ticket prices. Customer service is awesome, the best at ANY theartre and most establishments anywhere. The employees are friendly courteous and treat you as if you were part of thier family, I appreciate that. Sure, the State Theatre in Woodland is old, smells funny, and the bathrooms are prety gross. This theatre possesses charm, and an aura of positive vibes. Woodlands State theatre boasts architectual remanants of it's golden years, coupled with the regular gatherings of families and movie enthusiast's who continue to enter it's once regal doors may somehow overshadow it's flaws.
