The most comfortable theater in the desert. Since i found this one i don't even bother even trying amny other theaters.
We visit Palm Spring many times each year, always see several movies in this excellent, comfortable theater. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit to cold and the sound to loud. Still a great place to escape the daytime heat.
I live in Yucaipa and I drive down to this theater to see my movies. The aisle space is huge so you can stretch your legs and the seating is very comfortable. My only complaint is that the woman's bathroom needs to be larger.
Well-designed and very comfortable. But the quality of presentation is erratic. They cut the end credits off the last reel of "Australia" so the movie abruptly ends, the music suddenly cuts out and the house lights come up; the filmmakers worked to create a feeling at the end of the movie, and this theater decided to destroy it so they could turn over the room faster. On another occasion, the picture (printed 1.33 to be projected with a 1.85 matte) was framed incorrectly, with so much extra head-room the microphone was visible; I pointed this out to the manager and (after getting angry) they reframed it wrong again, this time with too much room at the bottom, cutting actors' heads off. There's really no excuse for this in a technically well-equipped theater like this, and the distributors would no doubt be unhappy if they knew how carelessly their films are being presented. All it would take to correct these problems is a little consistent care, and this theater would be great.
We have been enjoying movies at this wonderful movie theater for the past 20 years. It has simply gotten better and better. Regarding movie times they are no differnt than most. In the middle of the week they may not have late, late movies but for the most part you will find late movies - especially toward the weekend. This theater was totally remodelled a few years back and features stadium seating and large screens in the main theater section. For movies that have pretty much ran their course, they move them over to smaller more intimate theaters, which are very, very comfortable and nice with wide isles and very comfortable seating.
