  • excellent old school theater. It is not the typical commerical mega plex but a more comfortable home town.

  • I have no sympathy for the unon - why should a privately held, local movie theatre have to have a union? Most of the jobs are for young adults anyway, and again, why punish a small private theatre versus the big megaplexes? I have brought more tickets to movies here and in Rheem just to support the local business. I am pro-labor and support fairness in the workplace - but it's ridiculous that a labor group is picketing a small local private company. And moreover, the staff and the facilities have always been top notch.

  • From a local customer's point of view, it's a great theatre and great place to go on an evenings outing for us. We are lucky to have it. I realize there are other aspects, good and bad, the big sign is neat, parking can be tricky, but there is always enough, etc. As for employee issues, I am interested in hearing of unfair treatment and would judge accordingly. Our enjoyment should not be at the expense of others.

  • Many of us have been going to the Orinda for many years. It feels to me that their ability to hire new workers and not use the union has improved the experience. There's two theaters where I consistently have a good experience without an exorbitant price. Orinda, and Alameda. I don't think it's fair that the reviewed have just a politicl review -

  • Do not support until they resolve union issues. This is so unfair in this economy when people are having a tough time making ends meet.
