Personally, I'd rather drive to Badin Drive-in located in Albemarle...they have a playground for the kids and clean bathrooms with more than just 2 stalls. They also have a second screen so you have double the choice of movies. Their size allows you to make it in usually, where at Belmont, if you're not in line early, they get sold out fast and you wind up out of luck. But Belmont is still nice and close for fun, family entertainment...don't get me wrong. You can't go wrong either way.
My family and I attended our first movie there last Saturday. It was everything I expected. Where else can a family of 4 see twofirst run movies for $8? I would suggest bringing in food and drinks though. I understand that by selling food is how they pay the bills but the lines are very long and very slow. Maybe buy a few things early and then eat what you bring in or you'll miss the movie entirely. We parked near the snack stand and there was a long line throughout the whole movie. Also, the rest rooms should be condemmed, thankfully my kids didn't need to go or I would have just taken them to the woods. It would have been cleaner. In short, it's a good cheap way to take the family out but you get what you pay for but in this case, it's not all that bad.
Where else can you go and see 2 first run movies for $4.00 a person? The seating is great. No one with a big head is sitting in front of you. No one is climbing over you going to the restroom or consession stand. Yes there are bugs BUT you are outside in the fresh air with no one hacking all over you with GERMS. If you want fancy and pricey go to the walk in. IF you want good entertainment, good and reasonably priced food, a safe place where you can bring your children go to the Belmont Drive-In. Yes the place is old and needs some help. SO if you are a fan offer to help and keep True America Alive. 5 stars to Belmont Drive-In.
