  • The PROS: When you enter the theatre you get very excited about being here. It has a classic art-deco old-style movie theater vibe & the collection of classic film mementos gives you something interesting to do while you wait for the fresh popcorn. I sometimes go in there just to get a super tub of popcorn because it's so tasty. If you're really nice to the ticket lady, she will let you do this. The bathrooms are always clean. The ticketing process is streamlined & personal. They still offer offbeat & midnight movies. It’s nice that they are still family owned & you can tell they are fighting to keep the place going. The CONS: Parking is very limited to the street & the lot next door. If you park behind the pharmacy on the corner the people who live above it will have you towed. I made that mistake once. They have very worn old seats that really hurt after about an hr of sitting. They offer bad tasting beer. I've been going to the theatre for 20 yrs & the staff (with the exception of the ticket lady) has gotten really surly & very snotty to customers but apathetic about customers who create disruptions during the movie. Sometimes the customers can be very obnoxious - during the movie, which is especially true during the Midnight movie. Overall, every Milwaukee Local should have this experience at least once.

  • This is an amazing one screen cinema. Every Friday night MSOE's (Milwaukee School of Engineering) radio station puts on a "Friday Night Freak Show" with movies varying from things like Ever After to Cheech and Chung's "Up In Smoke" - even classics like Return of the Living Dead. The price is cheap, the food is good and the atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming.
