i don't think the theatre is bad, but my ears ache shortly after going inside because there is way too much sound for the size of the room. also, the previews and ads are nearly as long as the movie itself
for the price it is a great movie theater, being that the economy sucks this movie theater is your budget choice.I give it a 4 star because i really like DLP projectors kuz theres no cut lines. Now you say marcus is better i dont go for the seats i go for the movie and thats what i will remember. marcus does not have dlp so when you look at the screen there will be "cuts" which lowers the quality of the film in my book. I love this theater for there prices not going up and that they are so low
i am never even going to consider being on time again. If you go to a movie say one week and then the next you will see the same lame "fun" slideshow quiz presentation and probably the same movie previews. Packing all the bloat in front is stupid. They should offer ethe goofy goony bloat stuff for free in a special theatre on the side for those who really really want to squirm for the trash, I like movie previews but this other slideshow garbage is loathsome and irksome beyond words. Are wee all loaded on drugs or something that we could tolerate the junk as entertainment? If they handed you a 1/2 pint or "something else" to sit throug it maybe somehow you could feel entertained.
I am not at all impressed with this theater. I dont think it's all that clean or nice picture quality and the previews and such is way too much and the time it takes for them is NOT added to the movie times that are posted. We went to Up and it said 91 minutes or something and supposed to start at 700, i never got out until after 9 PM. I had someone watching my youngest and said that id be home by 9. and if they had not had all that crap in the beginning i would have been home. Id much rather go to the marcus theater and that is even farther from me. unfortunately, i want to take my kids to the 3d movies and this is the only one that is fairly close.
Let's start with the good. My favorite thing about this theater is it's picture quality. It is very good. And I've appreciated every movie I've seen there. The theater is also fairly clean. The bad. Ticket prices are ok. I think they have a early matinee price and a later matinee price, along with the regular price. Where they get you is at the concession. Soda and popcorn are roughly two dollars more then what I paid in the Milwaukee area. And you get one refill if you purchase a large drink or popcorn (I think any compotent doctor would recommended against this). Where I'm used to refills on any size. The Ugly. The movie will start a half hour after the posted time. You will watch every lame movie quality commercial available and see all those trailers you already saw during the superbowl before your movie starts. I've checked my watch in at least three movies and the movie always started 30 minutes after the lights dimmed. I'll give them a three. It's my choice for LaCrosse theater because of the great picture. And the concession is only a little bit worse then the Marcus theater. *Update* I went to see "Up" here because they had it in 3D. I'd heard great things about LCD shutter based 3D. But unfortunately they had real3d or something which was just polarized lenses. So I was disappointed with the 3d experience.
