  • After reading the reviews - I must state that I LIKE the Hoffman - it is a matter of "compaired to what"? I guess I don't go at the same time as I have not found the same experience with teens in and out or unsupervised young ones - we saw a 2 year old at "saving private Ryan" - so people are just not thinking these days and are why we are in rapid decline to 3rd world status... - I go usually before noon on sat or sun.. past few times right after dinner you think this is bad - go to St. Charles theater in Waldorf - THERE you get all the downside of above PLUS sticky floors, uncomfortable seats, a selection of movies that appeal to the indigenous populous humanity I like – it is people I can’t stand

  • Other than new movies, AMC Hoffman offers nothing. The experience is usually unsatisfactory. Saw Inglourious Basterds there last month and the subtitles were dangling below the screen so most of the dialogue was lost. Got my money back. Today tried to see Where the Wild Things Are. A young family brought their infant and 2-year old. They brought lots of toys for the kids... including a toy phone. The kids did not shut up for the entire movie. And of course, was there a responsible employee there to ask them to please be quiet? No. As other reviewers have commented, there are also serious safety and liability concerns. Really nuts. I guess on the positive side I can say that the floors did not stick too badly?

  • Horrible-not the theater's amenities, the lack of law in the theater. It's a zoo-primarily because of the teen factor. Kids walk in and out of theaters constantly, talking loudly and using their cells. Management does nothing, even once a complaint is lodged. Went tonight, hadn't been there for a year or so...I'll not be going back. In addition to the revolving door of teens walking in and out (using the theater as a meet up, I couldn't pay attention to the movie for more than 30 seconds at a time. Finally left after 20 minutes and got my money back. On my way out, I see a kid about 6 years old, hoisting himself up on the balcony rail, looking over with his friends (about 2 years older than him)..not a parent to be seen, not an employee anywhere in sight to prevent what could be a tragic fall from 3 stories up. Horrible experience, I'd say any theater in the MD/DC/VA area has GOT to be better than this one. I give it 1 star b/c '0' stars isn't an option.
