Starworld is going downhill. Seats are starting to show wear, the carpeting feels like someone dumped butter all over it, and the employees have a "don't care" attitude.
My 4 yo daughter and I went to the Bixby Dickinson theatre to see a movie Oct 7th, 2009, and we had a TERRIBLE time, as did another separate gentleman and his son. We arrived at 5:00 to see our 5:10 movie and the young man at the register said the price would be $17+ and I said "What, is this right?" He said yes, so I took the tickets and we started to go and see our movie. I looked down and we had 3 tickets. We go back to the young man who sold us the tickets, and I told him he had charged us for 3 tickets, and he yelled and said I had told him 3. I said it's just my daughter and I, I would have known if I would have said 3, so I asked for my money back and he went crazy, saying his drawer would be short, yelling, and so I asked for the manager and he said "I AM THE MANAGER"...how embarrassing this was for him and Dickinson, yelling at a regular mom and her 4 year old daughter. So while I am dealing with this another man and his son came out and said that Toy Story movie real had messed up, and the staff sent him up to get his money back. The "MANAGER" asked to see his tickets and he asked his son where the tickets were and couldn't reproduce them so the "MANAGER" wasn't going to help him...the man said you know we have been in their watching the movie, AND YOU sold me the tickets...they had a half eaten bag of popcorn and drinks. The manager said he could not refund his money b/c his drawer would again come up short, and the gentleman, getting irritated, asked for the manager, for which the young man was quick and smirky to say I AM THE MANAGER. This place has really gone downhill in my opinion, and no one seems to care or have any people skills. Most employees are under 21, which is fine if they know how to deal with people. These situations were NOT difficult ones to solve, so I would suggest a class in CONFLICT RESOLUTION! We won't be going back anytime soon!
This is the only place my husband and I go when we see a movie. The place isn't as bad as people say. We especially like the seating.
Fantastic movie experience! The giant screens and excellent sound system overwhelm the senses as you sit in comfortable seats. Dirty concession area? I wouldn't know. I don't go to spend money on overpriced popcorn and drinks. You shouldn't either. Other cities should be so lucky to have a theater like this. Just saw the latest Star Trek flick. Only at Starworld 20 will you be able to see the full impact of this bigger than life movie.
Have seen over 100 movies at this theater. I love their popcorn! It is the best..and their butter is good, tastes real not like AMC. The concession is filthy and the kids running it are not real brite, but then I see that everywhere. The sound is usually good, and the screens vary in size. Make sure you get a big one. Not a real clean place and now hard to get to due to all the construction. Anyway....its an average movie theater, but I still go there.
