There is new management, ownership and renovations as of 12/18/09. This will be alot better when people who care work there. The heat is on and working I might add.
I like it and the popcorn is always so good! Prices are not bad and it is fun. Yea it can be a little sticky on the floors but they have done a lot of remodeling as for the chairs and new set ups. They are nice and play movies even if there is only two ppl. I would def. go again. Been going there for years!
I've been going to this theater my entire life. Born and raised in Dunkirk. It's not a Regal, that's for sure, but it's got good prices, a great variety of movies playing, and a small crowd. I've been there a few times where we were the only ones in the theater.. once we got there 20 minutes late, and they started the movie just for us because we were the only ones there. Nice. Sure, it's a little "dumpy," ..seats falling apart, sticky floors, once in a while the film just doesn't work and they have to give you a refund. But they've finally added cupholders in some theaters, it's always nice and warm inside, and the seats that are still attached are comfortable. Prices have gone up just a bit, but are still much cheaper than the Regals. Prices in 1999 were $6 adult, $5 matinee. Now it's $7.50 adult, $6.50 matinee (I believe). I love our old dumpy theater :) Oh and to someone elses comment about popcorn tasting old and stale... not sure what they're talking about.. I've always gotten fresh, delicious popcorn!
Went on 12/23/08. We FROZE!! Theater was so cold! Heat in the hallway, but not in the actual theater. Sat in our winter coats the whole time while our legs were freezing. Popcorn was old and tasted stale. Will make the drive to Lakewood from now on.
I've only been here once but it was a pretty normal small-town theater. You can see the most popular new movies for a decent price, but that's all I'm asking for. It's not perfect. Sure, the floors might be sticky from soda spills -- try keeping your shoes on. And snacks are expensive anywhere so do what you would do at any theater you've ever been to, and get them at the drugstore or the dollar store. It's not a bad place, I would go there again.
