The Wilton Theater is one of the reasons to live in Southern NH! It is like visiting a friend! I always feel good when I visit and the movies shown there are usually the gems that are impossible to find elsewhere nearby. The selections are invariably great "flicks". Add in the great popcorn and the really low prices and whatayagot? A great bargain and a fun evening!
A small quaint two room theater. It has the charm of days gone by with new and old movies. I have yet to check out the Silent Sundays with a live piano just like it used to be.
Check out the monthly silent movies on Sunday afternoon, and don't forget a cup of the 100% natural pink lemonade. The movie theater is inside the town hall- local gossip says the theater rent pays for the town hall heat. Unfortunately, this theater is _not_ wheelchair accessable, since it was built before modern wheelchairs existed. However, just as when it was built, if someone can carry you in there are several slots for wheelchairs, seated walkers, etc. Also, if you find stairs difficult, the back side has three steps as opposed to the main street side's thirty. But be very, very careful about the six 30-minute parking places opposite the side of the building facing the main street; they are, and ought to be, reserved for store patrons and you _will_ be ticketed.
This theater is amazing! I can't believe I've lived 5 minutes from it for 3 years and I just went there for the first time this week. It is so adorable and classic. The man working at the counter (not sure if owner or employee) was SO nice and they use real, yes REAL butter on their popcorn! It's $6 for a nighttime show which is $3 less per person than the theater we usually go to. I will DEFINATLY be back to the Wilton Town Hall Theatre!
Psssst... Don't tell too many people about this local gem!
