  • Andover Cinema is a great family oriented theater. They offer many matinees and over the holidays offer free movies for a donation of a canned good to the food shelf. I have always had good service there and the staff is always friendly. The seats are not perfect, but the price is awesome! It is also a clean theater and easy to drive to.

  • The theater is nice and is usually pretty dead so you can enjoy your movies without a bunch of cognitively challenged pre-teens chatting during the movie "OMG, that's so jank" (puke). They have discount pricing on all shows before 6. I have taken my 5-year-old to dozens of movies there and never had a bad experience...well, except for Speed Racer, but that was more the movie than the theater. Showplace 16 in Coon Rapids is nicer and has better seats, but it is much more busy and the customers are a lot younger.

  • I see movies at Andover Cinema all the time. The prices are cheaper than any other theater in the area and my popcorn has always been fresh. As far as mice on the counters, well, that person was probably a liar. It has been my observation that Andover Cinema is kept very clean. My only real beef is with the seats; they aren't very comfortable. But then again, Andover is cheaper than most places and even has $5 movies all day on Tuesdays. Another thing that I have notices is the improvements that have been made recently. New track lighting was put in not too long ago and I overheard some of the employees taking about getting a 3D projector. The lighting is just fine IMO, not too bright. I'm not sure, but isn't there fire codes and stuff that require a little light? I hope all you review bashers out there looked into this possibility before knocking Andover. And what's the deal with all these bad review people having horrible grammar and paragraph length run on sentences? Your coming off as idiots BTW. If saying such horrible things about someplace is worth your time, you might as well do it right for f sake.My three year old can type better than some of you people. For those bad review people out there with good grammar, well, I'll just have to respectfully disagree with you and say that Andover Cinema is a wonderful family theater. Also, the staff has always been very helpful and friendly to me. Once I accidentally knocked my soda over and spilled it all over one of the concession workers. He actually apologized to ME and then got me a new soda. Another time I walked into the wrong theater after being directed to the right theater and missed 20 min. of my movie. The manager offered to refund my money, give me a free pass, or to let me stick around and watch the next showing. It was all my fault but the manager insisted on giving me something. I have been taking my family to Andover Cinema for three years now and won't take them anywhere else. Thanks Andover!

  • I don't know what theatre you all are going to...I go to Andover Cinema on a regular basis and have never had a problem with the lighting or seen mice on the counters. Its conveniently located for me but is only a mile or two closer than Showplace 16. I choose Andover Cinema over Showplace 16 hands down! The cost may have risen for the matinee but its called economics. It is still a better price than you would find at alot of places! It is a great locally owned business and as a fellow business owner I applaud their clean, professional atmosphere!
