I used to enjoy going to the kentland cimema. Now I do not go. YOu can depend upon people using cell phones and checking mail, if not talking. It would help if the management kept an eye on this. These are presisely why movie attendance is dropping nationally.
the theatre is alright at best...the seats are grossly uncomfortable and it's impossible to get seats with hand rests that can raise (for couples) On the other hand, Regal and Rio are full of really loud people, and on nights that usually used to go to the movie theatre, absolutely packed. I guess one can say each has its strengths? I just go to this one because of its proximity.
1) Kentlands has great, FREE, parking. No under-designed garage (Rio), no pay-to-park (Regal). 2) Older audience. Rio and Regal are loaded with texting teens and idiots who have no manners. 3) The only place to still have $1 student discount. Rio makes you watch the movie on "Student Night" if you want to get the discount. Obviously it is not on Friday/Saturday, so good luck with that Rio.
I like it. Well, it's the only place we really go to, but it's still satifying.
We are hispanic. We went to see the 8pm function of Alies vs. Monsters on April 5, 2009. When we came out of the movie theater a heavy trashcan was laid against our car. It damaged the door. Their security camaras must have cought something. Personnel is all young and "white." Someone saw something. I'm sure nobody will talk. Whoever did this did it because we are Hispanic and because my mom is Handicap. Other people did not get trash cans on their cars nor did their cars receive damage. The movie theater needs to interview employees and see if anybody saw anything and release the security tapes to see if these taped whoever did the damage. We had been going to this movie theater for a while and this is the first time we are faced with an attack on our property of this sort. It will be the last time we visit this movie theater as well. I feel strongly we were attacked because we are Hispanic and because my mom is 78 years old and she is handicap. I am sure the movie theater will not do anything, even if they have the security tapes (if there are any). And their employees, who may or maynot have been involved, will not cooperate with any questioning. All I can wish for is for divine justince, and pray so, the trend continues and less and less people go to this movie theater and it eventually declares bankrupcy and goes out of business.
