I saw Avatar in 3-D at the Hampshire Mall in Hadley. The movie was incredible and the 3-D effect was awesome. Friends and I decided to to drive 2 hours to Framingham to see it on Imax. It really wasn't worth the trip. We all felt that the pictures were sharper, and the butt-kickers enhanced the experience; but we did not see much difference. The expectation was that the Imax picture would surround you, as opposed to seeing the same type of screen that the 3-D version was shown on. What am I missing? Is Jordan's Imax not a true Imax Theater, or is there a true Imax experience that I have yet to see? I enjoyed Avatar just as much the second time around; but should have avoided the 4-hour round trip for the 2nd time.
IMAX and the few 3D portions were amazing--now I have to see a full length 3D feature here. The last time I saw a 3D film, it was such a low quality that I didn't see much need for 3D (not at this IMAX by the way), but this experience changed my perception. The screen, the sound, the "butt-kicking" seats, and the employees were all good. I will return. Since you have to walk through Jordan's furniture, Jordan's has a great opportunity to sell some great furniture, unfortunately, they are just so expensive.
Great Way to see ANY movie.. IMAX is Amazing!! This Harry Potter Movie was "OK" ZERO fighting scene's & very DULL Ending... Kinda disappointed...
Imax is always an enjoyable experience. Especially if the feature is in 3D. If your at Jordan's for the movie only, the side attraction of navigating through the furniture store can make you feel intimidated or as though your intruding.
The sound system is amazing also the IMAX is a 3-D theater.
