their food is really good and the 3d glasses were awesome.
Awesome. Where else can you see the latest Hollywood blockbuster or a cool indie or foreign film at the same theater? Nice to have some cool restaurants in walking distance too, including right next door.
Best theater in the city, the only one (besides the Village 8, also owned by the same local company) that shows interesting movies and blockbusters in an exciting, intimate, and no-fuss setting. Plus more people can walk to it than any other theater in the city!
Had the unfortunate experience of attending this theater recently. Prices were above average, service was way below average. Food service people acted like we were getting in the way of their conversation. Popcorn was stale. Theater was dirty. Will not go back.
Pros: 1. They show more than just standard Hollywood fare - indies and foreign films. 2. They have really good popcorn and flavored toppings you can shake on instead of the sludge. 3. Location is pretty good. Cons: 1. They don't stagger the showings. so if you just want to show up and pick out something, chances are you'll have a long wait. 2. No stadium seating, so if you're short and a tall guy sits in front of you... 3. They don't always have a good selection or show every good foreign film. 4. Screens are not huge. Overall, despite its shortcomings, I will usually travel to the Baxter instead of Tinseltown (which is much closer) or Stonybrook (which has a larger selection, more food choices and stadium seating) because it is more likely to have something off the beaten path. Also, I love their popcorn - no butter, just white cheddar topping sprinkled on. Yum!
