In my opinion this is a great "old" theater for watching a movie, drinking a coke and eating popcorn. Prices are great too compared to other theaters and you do get those free refills!!! Sure the movie selection is not that good, but it's a small theater and the staff make up what the theater lacks. Beats driving to Gurnee if you don't have too. And yes, prices have gone up, but so has minimum wage thanks to Blago, so pick your poison. With the minimum wage hike and other costs of doing business going up, so goes the ticket price. Sure I would like to see it completely updated inside and out, but that's not going to happen. It's not really that bad inside, it has charm.
I went to this theatre when it was one big theatre. You need to know it was an actual theatre with stage acts at one time. It was also used during silent movies with a piano. That being the case it was not so bad and I appreciate the history of the place. The staff try to make it a good experience. One person complained that people talk during the movie; people talk during all movies. If it gets too much the managers will step in to quiet things down. I have noticed that a lot of families go to this theatre and bring all there children no matter what age. My thought is its cheaper to pay for a ticket that pay a sitter. This can be a bad thing due to loud sounds and the darkness cause children can get upset. This is a great place and they do there best with what they have. The prices even with the raise is not bad. If you don't like it go somewhere else. Where there are no refills on pop and popcorn and tickets are $6.75 and up. Like Gurnee Mills, Round Lake, or Kenosha.
i like going there but they 1. need more moveis and 2. there prices suck!!!!!!!!!!!
