This is a great place to go. They always have a good selection of movies, parking is ample and free. The facilities are pretty clean but there's some insidious odor both in the Lobby and theaters, that somehow diminishes the experience.
I love the way the landscaping was done not too long ago. That is already one reason to go to this movie theater and - the ample parking, no meters. Wonderful. Who cares if Sunrise Cinema is in Sunrise or Norht Miami Beach or what. It's a name. But just enjoy the beautiful trees and shrubs. There is always something in bloom. In fact, I am going there right now. LH
INACCURATE post. The theater is NOT in Sunny Isles, and IS in North Miami Beach, further is in a strip mall with a Winn-Dixie, so the writer is mistaken about where she writes about her parking ticket. As her post reads a resident for over 60 years, I would think that this would be easy enough, but obviously in the 60 plus year a mistake has been made. And while we all mistakes, I'd hate to have someone read this post and assume it is correct and not go to this theater based upon what they wrote. "Unfortunately Sunrise Cinemas is located in Sunny Isles, Florida, a "throw back" to the typical Georgia Highway Police of the 1960's. I recently tried parking at a "pay the meter machine" in Sunny Isles and ended up with an $18.00 parking ticket as the miniumum (not posted) was to put $6.00 in the machine. I along with 10 others raised objections to this but the meter maid (man) had no authority or interest in making the circumstance decent. Frankly, I like the Sunrise Cinema Theatre but will no longer frequent any business' in Sunny Isles. I have been a resident of Miami Beach for 60 years, am gainfully employed and have all of my "facilties" in place. Good luck Sunny Isles Parking...Watch out when you park in Sunny Isles, Florida, they bite the hand that feeds them."
I don't know what sunrise cinema that the guy had to pay to park there are no pay parking spots at this sunrise parking is free and plenty of ityou need to stay in miami beach!!!!
This is a lovely theater. It's simple - no frills - but it's very conveniently located, there is free parking, and it's very clean.
