      Not really sure what is so "unusual" about getting news via a phone call. Does the academy normally notify stars of nominations my carrier pigeon?

        They make the announcements in America at 5am pacific time so it not common to capture the live reaction to the nom. I've seen a couple get the nomination on morning shows on the east coast time but people are usually at home when they hear the news.

      Love her! She totally deserves to win for Best Supporting Actress. Jessica Chastain was undoubtedly the best part of "The Help". When her character, Celia Foote, was shook up the fried chicken and squealed "This is so much fun!" I nearly died with laughter. She is a truly incredible and versatile actress.

      This a talented girl. Compare her portrayal of the simple-minded ditz in "The Help" to the Mossad agent in "The Debt". We cannot say she is not versatile.

      Go Jessica Chastain ... she was hands down the best part of The Help. Her character was fabulous!

        Her character was hardly one sided. Her's was one of the only in the film that had any kind of real range of emotion ... strength and weakness ... You could laugh at her 'outsider' ways, feel for her with the miscarriages and be proud of her when she picked herself up at the end. The rest of the cast was really good as well, but the other characters were pretty well set in stone ... Well played, but not nearly as far to go range wise.
