I think it would be great if either Melissa McCarthy or Octavia Spencer won the Oscars. It should be about talent, not about what a person looks like, or their weight. I love the actress that played in Precious, it was a very moving, and sad movie.

Is Angelina Jolie trying to disappear off the face of the earth. She is a sack of bones. Don't know why she thought that sticking out that boney leg from her dress was attractive. Someone please give this lady some ENSURE and psychiatric help for weight issues!

You go Meryl Streep, you deserve it girl! You are great in every role that you play! Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer, great actors not to be overlooked!

I love the snubs, for who cares about these self righteous, rich, phony actors, who nine times out of ten can't handle reality in their own every day lives off screen. It's sad to see our elected leaders pandering up to such nonsense, unless you think politics is merely for entertainment purposes as well.

The have sucked my whole life time, the idolization of a-holies is bad enough, the yearly airing of the oscars is a waste electrical power. If 21 million people boycotted the award shows, the news media will still say, 21 million watched, the idolization of a-holys. You driving down the highway, your tire goes flat. You have your children in the car, you have to sit and wait for who an Oscar winner; to come help. Self help.

Melissa you are the funniest lady / actress on the planet & I commend you. I laughed so hard seeing "Bridesmaids" that " my cheeks on my face were hurting...LOL. I will watch it again so I can hear that parts I missed. You deserve an Oscar no matter what anybody says or how they vote! You made this movie rock & u r so very talented. Mike & Molly is a funny show too. No matter what u weigh u r "AWESOME". Ignorant people will always be judgemental & lash out at people because they are miserable humans themselves!!! From one of your "Plus Size" fans who love you no matter what.

Every year we get the same headlines of Snubs and Surprises. What else is new? These people vote for each other. If you are not well liked and have the best movie out there...too bad...you lose...no votes. I happen to like Peoples Choice awards. I feel they speak for us movie goers.

Well deserved nomination. Since I don't have tv I had no idea who MM was, but she made Bridesmaids much more funny with her antics. I'd be truly shocked if she'll actually win. Hollywood is pretty snobby.

Why say popular "plus sized" tv star??? Since she is so popular I think we would have known her without that discription.
      • LadyF 4 months ago
        I agree!

        description not discription....learn to spell!

Because she IS a "plus sized" tv star and that's putting it mildly!! The more we acknowledge those who are obese or overweight, MAYBE we can stop the epidemic in our country!

you have to consider the source of those neg comments they come from pea sized brains and with the mentality of a jack #$%$.

So next time you write about someone whose ribs can be easily counted..please refer to them as an "unhealthy-sized" model. Thank you :)

Right on!! Or why not refer to Jolie as the sour#$%$ actress. Did Jolie pick up that just-finished-sucking-on-a-sour-pickle-look from Victoria Beckham?
      • MissFlowerStar 4 months ago
Yes why don´t they write "minus sized"... but noooo just have to do with the people on the other side of the scale. #$%$ We are human beings, in different sizes and shades of color. Human beings. Treating or comparing ourselves like animals. This has always exited. Come on people, let´s be different. Or even better, BECOME OUR BEST AS FOR WHAT WE REPRESENT: HUMANITY!!

The problem is that people, society, Hollywood, etc are more willing to accept an unhealthy size as long as it reads small numbers but when it's an unhealthy size with large numbers, well then that is the only time to acknowledge that it is unacceptable. No secret that there is a definite weight descrimintaion. For those who say maybe it will wake up America to this epidemic - what do we need to do to wake America up to all the eating disorders and grossly underweight people? One shouldn't be more acceptable than the other - both are considered unhealthy medically speaking.

I'm tired of seeing the same faces nominated. They may be good actors, but it seems like the same ole male faces in the line up. MM deserved to be nominated! She MADE Bridesmades!
    • David  •  4 months ago
And if you are small, you are what? "Fun Sized"?
    • Paola  •  San Antonio, Texas  •  3 months ago
I did not know this Melisa either, but the movie and her in it was hilareos....want to see it again because someties we laugh so hard we were crying, miss somethings said. the part on the plane with the Fed.agent.....hope she gets the Oscar......
    • WH  •  3 months ago
I did not see Bridesmaids, but I did catch MM on SNL. It was hilarious. It seems to me that the same people are nominated for Oscars year after year. They launch a campaign early to get nominated. I think they can contact members of the academy to beg for their vote. Sounds political to me.

LOVE HER! The scene between her and her husband on the plane- one of the best ever! I still laugh whenever I think "Is there a hungry bear in here?" Hahaha!
