i liked Heath Ledger too, but really how many votes did he get because he died. just like Whitney, her music sales rocketed because she died. i'm not sure she sold any music in like 3 year before she died.

Would he have won if he hadn't died?
      • Rachel Wood 3 months ago
Certainly. He was truly an incredible actor. Whereas most actors play themselves in costume, Heath played individuals. His work in The Dark Knight was astounding; had he not died, the role would have been the start to an entirely different level of success. Similar to the way I feel about River Phoenix.

While filming "The Dark Knight", the buzz was Ledger was going to win the Oscar for his performance as the Joker BEFORE he died.

[Dude] won bc he died. He got much hype BC he died. THE SCREENPLAY, SCRIPT, required such character, NOT Heaths creativeness! So, MAYBE Jack(Or ANY1 Else) Couldve nailed it as well. Again, WE DO all kno Javier WOULDVE nailed it! Even Better! Some ppl R just naturals. Even w/o practice som1 CAN do beter than the...Dead. Heath would never hav been thought of 4 a Nomination had he not died. RIP, Heath.

Its all too obvious: he won bc he died. Yes, his role (SCRIPT) required such acting, and regardless if he trained all day evryday or not, others COULDVE don it as well--if not better. Hec, WE al kno Javier Barden WOULD have! The article upther is twisted. Heath is overated! RIP, Heath.

Best Actor Ever. I love you Heath

OMG! Heath was amazing! He took the character where even Jack Nicholson couldn't take it. Kinda freaked me out because I was used to seeing him as "Sir William Thatcher" and then he played a murderous wacko. Loved seeing him do something totally different. RIP Heath. You are greatly missed. He was pretty much the same age as my oldest brother when he passed. BTW...."The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasus" is a film I had to have since it was his final one. Heath was great and Johnny, Collin, and Jude also did great to fill in the gaps. Melts my heart to know those guys gave their earnings from the film to Matilda.

Nurse Ratched, Denzel in Training Day, Col. Hans Landa from just two years ago???? Stpid list
    • Tyler  •  3 months ago
Everyone doubted him and after seeing it couldn't imagine anyone but him. Very few actors can do that.

before has the Joker been portrayed as such an intriguing and terrifying agent of pure chaos as he was by Heath Ledger in THE DARK KNIGHT. He’s more than Batman’s enemy

Again - another ridiculously short list. Does Yahoo! even try?
