Yet with a relatively minor haul of $37,900, the film has already cracked the top 30 NC-17 money-makers of all time. Even as it opens to a wider audience this weekend, “KJ” won’t likely overtake the titillating topper “Showgirls” -- Paul Verhoeven and Joe Eszterhas’s dirty-old-man imagining of Elizabeth Berkley as a scantily clad Vegas showgirl -- which made more than $20 million, which is by no means a windfall at the box office. An NC-17 rating pretty much means that money isn’t everything, but as the following gallery shows, sometimes you just need more sex and violence to properly tell a story.
