With the holiday season just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about that perfect gift for the movie lovers in your life. In the spirit of the season, we've come up with a handy list of new and noteworthy DVD releases to stuff those stockings. From robots to stepbrothers, Spartans to superheroes, there's a little something for everyone.

A holiday movie classic celebrates its 25th anniversary with a deluxe collectible memoribilia-packed DVD release. It's the nostalgic tale of one boy's quest for the sole item on his Christmas list: a Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. But first, he'll have to endure a host of Christmas calamaties. 'Tis the season of leg-shaped lamps, pink bunny outfits and tongues on frozen flag poles. This edition includes five collectible cookie cutters in iconic shapes from the movie, a 48-page book of Christmas Story-inspired recipes, and a custom-designed chef's apron, all festively packaged in a retro holiday cookie tin.

His lonely routine is fatefully interrupted when he encounters the sleek search robot EVE, setting in motion a fantastic comic adventure across the universe. This 3-disc special edition contains a digital copy of the feature and a payload of bonus features, including the all-new animated short film 'BURN-E.'

"I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude!" Take a journey into Hollywood's hysterical heart of darkness with director/star Ben Stiller's hilarious movie-within-a-movie satire of the film biz, action flicks and the outrageous personalities that inhabit them. Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black are pampered actors on the set of a Vietnam War movie who are thrust into real-life danger and forced to become the fearless commandos they're portraying in order to survive. Be warned: you'll never look at war movies, awards shows or Tom Cruise the same way again. The two-disc unrated Director's Cut includes the feature film with over 14 minutes of never-before-scene footage, as well as an arsenal of special features and faux documentaries. See if Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus as Sergeant Lincoln Osiris does indeed finally break character for the DVD commentary.

  • BOTH THE DARK KNIGHT AND PRINCE CASPIAN ARE AT THE TOP OF MY CHRISTMAS WISH LIST. KUNG-FU PANDA, WANTED AND TROPIC THUNDER ARE OTHER MUST-HAVES, AS ARE IRON MAN AND HULK FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T GOTTEN THEM YET. HORTON HEARS A WHO REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PART OF THIS LIST. BUT AVOID AT ALL COST MAMA MIA. ABBA'S MUSIC IS AS PAINFUL AS A TRIP TO THE DENTIST FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. AMANDA
